Mt Lemmon 4 Wheeling in Pete's Jeep
The adventure started at 6 AM on June 20, 2006, from
SaddleBrooke. We traveled up to Oracle and turned onto the back roads leading to the top of Mt. Lemmon. 3+ hours later, having seen
some fabulous sights including deer, horses, cows, and even the birthing of a calf, we reached the top. It was a fast three hours
as there was so much to see and appreciate as we ascended to the 9000 foot elevation. It was nice to be in the forest, once again,
something that we California people had been accustomed to before moving to Tucson. We took the Catalina Highway back into Tucson and enjoyed
the rock formations and distant views of Tucson as we descended back to ground level. The temperature adjusted itself by about 20 degrees from
top to bottom.
